2011 World Championships Awarded to Sweden

International Handball Federation council awarded the 2011 Men´s World Championship to Sweden.
All the delegations had the opportunity to present their bid in front of the IHF Council before the awarding being executed but is Sweden who finally was choosen.
According to a Danish news report the vote was 7 votes for Sweden, 3 votes for Denmark, 2 votes for Spain and no votes for Hungary.
The Council officially accepted the increased number of participating teams in Youth and Junior World Championships. The decision-makers are confident this new rule would also guarantee a higher quality and position of these title contests.
